Fahadh Faasil To Be Part Of ‘Big B’ Sequel

Fahadh Faasil will star in Bilal, the sequel to Amal Neerad’s hit film Big B. The movie would mark the reunion of Mammootty and Fahadh Faasil after the 2013 Lal Jose film Immanuel.

According to IE, not only will Fahadh Faasil be acting in the movie, but he would also be one of the producers on the new film. The actor will be producing the movie along with Amal Neerad and Anwar Rasheed.

Incidentally, the trio is currently working together on Trance that is directed by Anwar Rasheed, shot by Amal Neerad and featuring Fahadh Faasil.

Bilal features Catherine Teresa in the female lead. Unni R, who scripted the original film, is joined by Amal Neerad’s Varathan writers Suhas and Sharfu for the film. The writers have reportedly locked in on a final draft of the script.

The movie, that was planned to go on floors, has been delayed owing to the shoot of Trance which reportedly got delayed.

Marking Amal Neerad’s directorial debut, Big B, inspired by the 2005 Hollywood film Four Brothers starring Mark Wahlberg, released in 2007 and went on to garner a cult following. The movie was an action thriller and centred on four adopted brothers out to avenge their murdered mother.

Apart from Mammootty, the movie featured Bala, Manoj K Jayan and Sumit Naval as the brothers while yesteryear actress Nafeesa Ali played their mother. Mamta Mohandas, Innocent, Vinayakan, Pasupathy and Lena were also part of the cast. Bollywood actor Shereveer Vakil played the main antagonist in the film.

Big B’s technical crew comprised of mostly newcomers who have since gone to become prominent figures in their respective fields. These include music composer Gopi Sundar and cinematographer turned director Sameer Thahir. For the National Award winning editor Vivek Harshan, Big B was only his second film that proved to be a major turning point in his career.
