The fans of Tollywood actor Junior NTR , allegedly, slaughtered a lamb in front of a theatre in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, to celebrate the release of the star’s latest flick, Nannaku Prematho. The bizarre incident has launched a controversy, and several NGOs fighting for animals rights have demanded legal action against the perpetrators.
Accorrding to a Facebook post by Dasaratha Somu, the incident took place on January 13. He had posted a video of the fans slaughtering a lamp amidst cheers and whistles, and smearing the blood of the animal on the film’s posters.
On the same day, some of the fans vandalised theatres where Nannaku Prematho tickets were being sold in black. In 2013, a youth had died in a stampede at D. Rama Naidu Studios where the audio of Juinior NTR’s Baadshah was being released.
Nannaku Prematho, directed by Sukumar and produced by BVSN Prasad, has NTR Jr., Rakul Preet Singh, Rajendra Prasad and Jagapati Babu in the lead roles.
