The first look of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus based on Kalki’s classic Ponniyin Selvan is out now.

The film starring an ensemble cast featuring the who’s who of Indian cinema, is being shot currently. The cast includes Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Nayantara, Sarath Kumar, Jayaram among others.

What’s also interesting is that the font release poster, which has the name of the technical crew does not include lyricist Vairamuthu. In fact there’s no mention of the lyricist at all.
It was earlier reported that lyricist Vairamuthu may be dropped from Ponniyin Selvan.

No official confirmation had come from the Ponniyin Selvam team. However, a source close to the production told Silverscreen, that the crew is yet to decide if he’s there in the project or not.
