Full Bottle, the upcoming Telugu film starring Satya Dev, which was announced with the release of a poster on Wednesday, will be a black comedy thriller featuring the actor as an alcoholic autorickshaw driver, its director Sharan Koppisetty tells Silverscreen India.
On choosing to collaborate with Satya Dev again, he says, “During Thimmarusu, we became close friends and while we were shooting that film, I suggested the idea for Full Bottle and he liked it. He knows my working style and had confidence in me. Many people do not know that Satya Dev can also pull off comedy. He is a joyful person and I wanted to show that side of him as well.”
About the plot of the film, the director says says, “Full Bottle is a black comedy thriller set in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, which is a port city. Satya Dev plays the role of an auto driver, who is an alcoholic. He gets involved in a murder situation, along with another person, and the story is about how they come out of the situation.”
“Kakinada being a harbour place has so many undiscovered locations, fishermen colonies, etc, which are often not shown in cinema. The place plays an important role in the film,” says Koppisetty, who was born in Kakinada himself. He reveals that he wrote this story about two years back, before Thimmarusu.
Aside from Satya Dev, the film will also feature Brahmaji (who also appeared in Thimmarusu), Subbaraju, Sai Kumar, and Kannada actor Vasishta in prominent roles. The filmmaker adds that the female lead will be finalised soon.
Koppisetty will be collaborating with his Gaalivaana technical crew yet again. Full Bottle will be shot by cinematographer Sujatha Siddharth and the editing will be handled by Santhosh Kamireddy.
“We have started the pre-production work and by mid-May, we will go on floors. We will be shooting in two schedules and are looking to wrap up by July,” the director says.
Full Bottle is produced by Ramanjaneyulu Javvaji and SD Company. The makers are looking for a theatrical release sometime in September.
