According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBCUniversal-owned Syfy are looking to include more science fiction shows.

Nightflyers is based on the author’s 1980 novella and the 1987 film of the same name, set in the future on the eve of Earth’s destruction. The story follows a crew of explorers who journey on the most advanced ship in the galaxy, the Nightflyer, to intercept a mysterious alien spacecraft. But things might not be as they seem when they realise that the artificial intelligence “captain” might be steering them into deadly place.

Picked up to pilot in June after being put into development in May, Nightflyers‘ production on the pilot has already begun with the casting yet to be confirmed.
