Actor George Clooney and his wife, international human rights barrister Amal, became parents to twins – a boy and a girl – on 7 June. Clooney’s representative issued a statement to confirm the happy event:
The statement read, “This morning Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine. George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”
Amal Alamuddin is a British-Lebanese barrister who specialises in international law and human rights. She has been a part of several high-profile cases including the defense of former Ukranian prime minster Yulia Tymoshenko, Muammar al-Qaddafi’s intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi, and WikiLeaks editor-in-chief Julian Assange.
She married George Clooney, an actor known for films like The Descendants, Hail Caesar! and the Oceans Eleven series, in 2014 in Venice, Italy.
