According to a report by Deadline, Johansson exited the film due to scheduling conflicts. The film was hoping to begin production in February which posed as an issue for the Marriage Story actress.

Evans and Johansson previously co-starred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as superhero characters Captain America and Black Widow.

Ghosted is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick whose works include Deadpool and Zombieland. It is based on an original idea that the writers came up with and they sold it to Skydance Media.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ghosted is a part of Apple’s large list of upcoming films. Other films include Tom HanksFinch, Swan Song written and directed by Mahershala Ali, and The Tragedy of Macbeth starring Frances McDormand and Denzel Washington.
