Gitanjali Selvaraghavan’s debut directorial, Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam, is reportedly in the last stages of its shoot with only one song and one day of patch work remaining. The final song has been composed by Amrit, and will be shot on a set designed to look like a bar, on the outskirts of Chennai.
Parts of Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam have been shot at the Baba House in Chennai and in the hilly areas of Ooty. Recently, Gitanjali Selvaraghavan, who is the wife of director Selvaraghavan, squashed rumours of a rift between her and producer Kola Bhaskar.
Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam stars Kola Bhaskar’s son Balakrishna Kola and Bollywood actress Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead. Selvaraghavan wrote the screenplay and the story for the film without any remuneration.
