The trailer also features Mouni Roy, Vineet Kumar Singh, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor and Sunny Kaushal. It starts off with a voice over saying “Gold, British Indian,” along with a stern looking Akshay staring at the British flag. It then gives us a quick glimpse of the struggles Tapan Das (Akshay Kumar) and his team face to win free India’s first gold medal in hockey.

The film is, however, not a biopic but a fictional story. High on patriotism and with dialogues like “Our team will defeat the British in London and avenge 200 years of subjugation” or “In our home, we begin our day with Inquilab Zindabad first and then breakfast”, the film is sure to play to the nationalistic sentiments of the country.

Gold will hit screens on August 15.
