The trailer is packed with references to films and real-life events. Yogi Babu plays the security guard of a mall hijacked by Anandraj and his people, and also by Livingston, a politician. Karunas is a guard and Yogi Babu’s friend. Elyssa Erhad, the female lead, makes a few appearances in the “item song” scenes in the trailer, her role is not known yet.

The trailer opens to the hijacking, a situation no one takes seriously. There are references to reviewer “Blue-shirt” Maaran who asks where the story is stolen from, and to Sivakumar who remedies himself after the selfie controversy. In a part resembling the Kaththi tunnel scene, Yogi Babu says “I am waiting” even though no one’s listening, and the famous “Never give up” line from Vivegam while holding on to his life with a rope outside a building.

Yogi Babu, as he said in an interview, is no regular hero. The trailer shows him as an Ajith and Vijay fan who says punch dialogues when stuck in adverse situations, and is always away from where the action happens. Yogi Babu and Karunas seem like the only non-hostages in the mall. The hijackers and politicians haven’t noticed Yogi Babu yet and it seems like he will save the day.

Director Sam Anton is known for his comedies. He made his debut with Darling in 2015, the film which introduced GV Prakash as an actor. He later directed Enaku Inoru Paer Iruku and 100Gurkha is Yogi Babu’s third film as the lead actor. He was seen as the lead in Kolamaavu Kokila and Dharmaprabhu recently.
