Vadivelu will act in GV Prakash’s next film, directed by Rambala. The actor has returned to comedy roles after failed attempts at a making a comeback as a lead actor in Tamil cinema. He plays a comic character in Vishal’s Kathi Sandai, which will release next month. He is also shooting for P Vasu’s Shivalinga.
Rambala had previously directed Santhanam’s Dhillukku Dhuddu. He is also known for his spoof TV series Lollu Sabha.
At a recent press conference, GV Prakash said, “Right from my childhood I have grown up by seeing the movies of legend Vadivelu sir. His body language and mannerisms are a treat to watch. As soon as director Ram Bala narrated the script, myself and producer Stephen felt that only Vadivelu sir could do justice to this role. We are indeed fortunate to work with this legendary actor. The Tornando from Madurai is back, so get yourselves ready for a laughter riot.” The film is being bankrolled by Stephen under the banner ‘Steeve’s Corner’.
GV Prakash has recently signed a number of films. In fact, at the audio launch of his next release Bruce Lee, director Pandiraj even said that GVP was challenging Vijay Sethupathi in terms of most number of films this year. Vijay Sethupathi has had six releases thus far in 2016.
Going by his recent announcements, GV Prakash has a number of projects scheduled for next year – Adangathey by director Shanmugam Muthusamy, 4G directed by Venkat Pakkar, a film with Pandiraj, and another directed by Sasi, where he co-stars with Siddharth. Now, he adds the film with Rambala to his list.
GV Prakash began his acting career with the horror comedy Darling (2015) and followed it up with three more films – Pencil, Trisha Illana Nayanthara, and Enakku Innoru Per Iruku.
