GV Prakash Starts Shooting For His Film With Director Ezhil

GV Prakash Kumar At The 'Kuppathu Raja' Press Meet

GV Prakash has begun shooting for his new movie, a horror-fantasy, directed by Ezhil. Eesha Rebba, best known for her performance in the Telugu film Awe, has been cast as the female lead in the film.

Talking to Silverscreen, the music composer turned actor confirmed that the film had recently gone on floors. “It’s a horror fantasy. And it is too early to talk about my character,” he said. GV Prakash also said that the shooting would be happening in Chennai, Pollachi and Malaysia. Pre-production work for the film kicked off in February with a Pooja at a temple in the city.

UK Senthil Kumar serves as the cinematographer on the project while C Sathya composes the music for the movie. The yet-to-be-titled film is produced by Ramesh P Pillai. The producer has also signed and Siddharth for a big-budget film that will be directed by Sasi. Though the release date of the Ezhil film has not yet been finalized, the actor says that it is likely to have a year-end release. “It will most probably be a festival release,” he adds.

GV Prakash has a slew of projects lined up for release. Kuppathu Raja, featuring the actor, reached theatres today. The film has been in production for the last two years and marks the directorial debut of Bala Bhaskar. Poonam Bajwa and Palak Lalwani play the female leads while Parthiban and Yogi Babu are also part of the cast.

The actor is also awaiting the release of AL Vijay’s Watchman.  Though he has previously composed music for Vijay’s films like Madarasapattinam, Deiva Thirumagal, Thalaiva and Thaandavam, this is the first time GV Prakash is acting in a film by the director. Watchman also stars Suman, Raj Arjun, Nirav Shah and others. The cinematography is by Nirav Shah and Saravanan Ramasamy, Anthony is the editor, and Arunraja Kamaraj has written the lyrics.

Meanwhile, Ezhil’s Jagajala Killadi, starring Vishnu Vishal and Nivedha Pethuraj, will release later this year.
