GV Prakash’s ‘Sarvam Thaala Mayam’ Release Might be Postponed

Release of GV Prakash’s musical drama Sarvam Thaala Mayam, directed by Rajiv Menon, is said to have been postponed unexpectedly to avoid clashes with other films. It was initially scheduled release on December 28.

According to a report, the makers decided to postpone release because the Christmas releases have occupied most of the screens in Tamil Nadu. They are planning to release the film by January end, or the beginning of February. There is no official confirmation yet.

The film is centered on a youngster from a backward caste. It stars GV Prakash Kumar and Aparna Balamurali in the lead. Vineeth and Nedumudi Venu will be seen in pivotal roles. GV Prakash plays a musical prodigy who faces discrimination due to his caste. It is said that the film is a musical drama, and a self-discovery journey of a musician as he meets musicians from different parts of the country.

The title track released recently, it gave us a glimpse of the film’s plot.

Music for the film is by AR Rahman. Lyrics is by Madan Karky and Arun Raja. Ravi Yadav is the cinematographer, and Anthony is the editor.

The songs are rendered by Haricharan. They are said to be fusions with electronic sounds, the traditional Kerala chenda, and a plethora of other instruments. Lyrics can be understood as an extension of the movie’s title, it speaks about the omnipresence of rhythm.

Sarvam Thaala Mayam marks lyricist Na. Muthukumar’s last movie. It also marks Rajiv Menon’s return as a director after almost two decades. His last directorial venture was Kandukondain Kandukondain which had an ensemble cast of Aishwarya Rai, Tabu, Srividhya, Mammootty, Ajith and Abbas.
