Hansika Motwani will no longer be a ‘Vaalu’ when Sundar C’s Aranmanai releases. The first look poster of the movie tells us as much. While it looks like the jacket of a Tamil novella – painted in mythical tones – it also features actress Hansika in it; draped in a red sari with strings of jasmine in her hair, and facing a huge palace. “Aranmanai is a supernatural, psychological thriller along the lines of Chandramukhi,” revealed a source close to the director,
“This movie is a turning point for Sundar as he has been making only comedy films before. But the director has ensured that the film has ample doses of laughter as well.”
As for Hansika, her role is that of a “God’s child” in the film. “She has divine powers; she can heal and also look into the future. Her role is pivotal and the script is centered around her,” the source added. Apart from the Vaalu actress, the cast also includes Andrea Jeremiah, Lakshmi Rai, Vinay Rai, Santhanam and the director himself. Bharadwaj has composed music for this movie, which is slated for release in June.
