Speaking to Silverscreen, director Kalyaan said, “Hansika is on board, but reports of talks with Ramya Krishnan are false. The film doesn’t have a second heroine.” He added, “This is the script for a horror-comedy and centres on Hansika’s character of a police commissioner. Talks are on for the male lead, and more announcements will be made after the actor is finalised.”

Actors Yogi Babu and Motta Rajendran, his regular collaborators, are also part of the cast. AH Kaashif, who composed for Kaatrin Mozhi, is on board. The film is scheduled to begin shoot on September 10.

Hansika has worked with director Kalyaan on his 2018 film Gulaebaghavali, the action-comedy co-starring Prabhu Deva in the lead. Kalyaan made his debut with Katha Solla Poren in 2016, and later released Kaathadi, starring Sai Dhanshika in the lead as a cop.

His latest comedy entertainer Jackpot, with Jyotika and Revathy also as police officers, released this month and is running successfully in theatres. The film stars Samuthirakani, Mansoor Ali Khan, Yogi Babu and Anandaraj in other roles, and was produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment.
