“I am humbled with the lovely gesture of the jury members, who have recognised my efforts. This is an absolute gateway for Oththa Seruppu Size 7 to find a global reach. This film might be labeled as a one-man show, but I strongly believe that this one man had many backbones, who extended their unconditional support. Composer Santhosh Narayanan’s song, Sathya’s BGM, Resul Pookkutty sir’s mind-blowing sound, and Ramji’s cinematography added more substance to the film. I thank the superstars of Indian cinema for their appreciation which has made the film achieve additional recognition. Now, I am glad that Oththa Seruppu Size 7 has made it into the list of 26 feature films at the International Film Festival of India 2019. To have my film screened at the Golden Jubilee year of IFFI is yet another reason for me to celebrate,” said actor-director Radhakrishnan Parthiban who added, “I congratulate the crew members of other films and our Lakshmi Ramakrishnan madam for her House Owner finding a place here. Such honours aren’t just a reason to celebrate, but an impetus to proceed ahead and explore new experiments.”
Actor-director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan said, “This was completely unexpected and it is such a surprise. Although I was very happy about the way my industry friends, press and media received the film, I was in a dilemma about my pattern of filmmaking. This turn of events nurtures me with more confidence to pursue my passion. I thank the jury members of IFFI for selecting this film and I congratulate the teams of the other 25 feature films and 15 non-feature films.” She also added, “In particular, I congratulate Parthiban sir. Wishing him great success for his unparalleled attempt in Oththa Seruppu Size 7.”
Oththa Seruppu Size 7 hit the screens on 20 September 2019. It was an experimental film about a man being investigated by the police for committing murder. It was helmed, headlined and bankrolled solely by Parthiban.
