Hrithik Roshan Dropped From Thugs Of Hindostan; Reportedly Wanted Better Role For Actress

Actor Hrithik Roshan was unceremoniously dropped from Yash Raj’s Thugs Of Hindostan recently. A source close to the actor revealed that Roshan was unaware that he had been replaced by Aamir Khan as the male lead in the Vijay Acharya film.

Reports indicate that Roshan was unhappy with the script. Apparently, the Bang Bang actor suggested some changes and also told the film’s producer Aditya Chopra to approach him once the script was ready. The actor allegedly felt that the movie’s storyline had underdeveloped characters and a “sketchy” role for the female lead.

Rumours abound that the reason behind Roshan’s ouster is due to Mohenjo Daro‘s box-office failure. A big-budget tale of love and politics set in a fictionalised recreation of the ancient city of Mohenjo Daro, the film had Pooja Hegde as the female lead, and opened to mostly negative reviews.

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan will start filming for director Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thugs Of Hindostan soon after the release of his biographical sports drama, Dangal, according to an ANI report. Khan’s role in Thugs Of Hindostan would be a lighter one, along the lines of his Rangeela character, according to the report. The film will be produced by Yash Raj Films.

According to a DNA report, Amitabh Bachchan might be Aamir’s co-star in Thug. Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan have previously acted together in Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Dhoom 3.
