Hunger Games Team To Helm ‘The Odyssey’ Voyage

Get ready to watch yet another epic on silver screen – Homer’s The Odyssey is set to be adapted into a movie and Canadian-American entertainment company Loingate has roped in Hunger Games franchise director Francis Lawrence, writer Peter Craig and producer Nina Jacobson for the project.

The production will begin after the promotion works of the final dystopian sequel The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 ends, said a Deadline report.

Francis Lawrence directed three of the four Hunger Games films – The Hunger Games: Catching Fire , The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 . Craig co-scripted two parts of Mockingjay, and Jacobson bankrolled the franchise from the very beginning.

The Odyssey, supposedly written in 8th century BC,  is the second part of Homer’s The Iliad. he story revolves around a warrior named Odysseus – His adventures and the encounters on his decade-long voyage to Greece after the fall of Troy. During the journey he fight it out with Cyclops Polyphemus, the six-headed Scylla, the whirlpool sea monster Charybdis and many others.
