Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, known for her fashion sense, says that she did not intend it. “I didn’t intend to become a fashion icon. I dress up for myself. I don’t dress up and look pretty for other people. I do it because it makes me feel good, and because I love fashion and clothes,” she said.

She added that being a fashionista is not part of her job. “It’s an extension of my personality. I am passionate about acting — that’s my craft and vocation. Fashion is something that is entrenched in my life, because I enjoy it. I like looking good and love different clothes. That’s why I consider that [fashion] an art, and [think of] fashion designers as artists,” said the Neerja actress.
The actress is currently working on Veerey Di Wedding, an all-woman film directed by Shashankha Ghosh, who directed the actress’ Khoobsurat in 2014. Produced by Sonam Kapoor’s sister Rhea, the film will be about celebrating the spirit of the modern Indian woman. Apart from Sonam, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor and Swara Bhaskar, and will be centered around a wedding and a road trip the three women take to Thailand.
