The audio launch of debutant director Saravanan Rajendran’s Mehandi Circus was both fun and moving, with the presence of veterans Bhagyaraj and Sivakumar, directors Lenin Bharathi, Mari Selvaraj, Raju Murugan, Karu Palaniyappan, Ezhil, singer-actor Vijay Yesudas, music director Sean Roldan, producers SR Prabhu and many others from the film industry, along with the film’s cast and crew.

The event began with singer Srinidhi performing a song from the film.

Mehandi Circus’s music is composed by Sean Roldan. Talking at the launch, the composer said, “We all know how music composers would react if director of the film is about to enter our composing room. But, I had a great time with director Saravanan as he gave me the liberty to do a free-spirited music. We would keep chatting through the day, and I would compose tunes while we were talking. That’s how I worked on the music for this film.”

“I am big fan of Bhagyaraj. Whenever I feel stressed, I used to watch Bhagyaraj sir’s Indru Poi Nalai Vaa movie. I must have seen that movie nearly 200 times!” he adds.

Bhagyaraj spoke next and said, “This movie seems to be a musical love story. The anchors here asked people to talk about their own loves. For me, I still love to fall in love with people. There is no age limit to fall in love. I love cinema and most of my love towards women is just infatuation (he laughs). I am happy that people are now doing films in different genres in their first venture itself. It’s really welcoming trend!”

Director Karu Palaniappan recalled the early struggle of three friends: lyricist Yugabharathi, directors Saravanan Rajendran and Raju Murugan. “There were days when these three used to struggle for money and Saravanan Rajendran once participated in a speech competition organized by Kamal Hassan just to get a cash prize. He is the one who taught how to combine politics and art to Yugabharathi and Raju Murugan. Though his success is delayed, I am sure he will make movies that will live for years,”  the director said.

This film is produced by Studio Green. Madhampatty Rangaraj, who is from Coimbatore makes his acting debut with the film, while Masaan fame actress Shweta Tripathi is the female lead.  The trailer seems to be a promising intense musical love story and the release date is yet to be announced.
