On Thursday, Sachin Tendulkar, along with Kamal Haasan, Allu Arjun, Allu Arvind and Ram Charan Teja, launched in Chennai the jersey of Tamil Thalaivas for the Pro Kabaddi League this season. Tamil Thalaivas is one of the four new teams this season. While Kamal Haasan is the team’s brand ambassador, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and Allu Arvind co-own the team with Sachin.

Speaking on the occasion, Sachin said, “Not only kabaddi, I support any sport in general, as we Indians are at Number 3 in the world’s obesity list. A young unhealthy population is a perfect recipe for disaster. It is high time we indulged in some sport to stay healthy.” He further added, “At some stage in our life, we would have all played kabbadi. I recently attended a match and the energy at the stadium was electrifying.”
When asked about his dream kabaddi team, he said, “My dream team would definitely have MS Dhoni as defender. I don’t think anyone else would be as apt as a defender.”
Kamal Haasan thanked Sachin for coming down to support the sport. Kamal added, “This sport is more than 4,000 years old, and it is our duty to take this traditional game worldwide.”
