The inaugural edition of the Indian Badminton Celebrity League will begin on July 9th in Chennai. Actors Amala Paul, Arya, Jayam Ravi, Raai Laxmi, Venkat Prabhu, VTV Ganesh and Bharat will be participating in the league. Actor Ajith’s wife Shalini, who is a state level badminton player, is a surprising omission from the list of participants this season.
The event is conducted to raise funds for national level badminton players to pay for their participation in international championships. The games will be held on July 9 and 10 at the Nehru Stadium in Chennai.
