The teaser of Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday starrer Khaali Peeli is out now. Helmed by debutant Maqbool Khan, the film is being jointly bankrolled by Himanshu Kishan Mehra and Ali Abbas Zafar under their Offside Entertainment banner and by Zee Studios. This is the first time the lead pair is associating.
The teaser introduces us to two badass characters – an accused taxi driver Ishaan on the run and a girl Ananya with a bag of stolen gold and a gun. The two seem to embark on a journey in Mumbai in Ishaan’s black and yellow 6969 numbered taxi evading, hustling, shooting, and running away from the people and police trailing them.
The teaser also offers a cricket reference where Ananya questions him about their plan to which he compares them with the three different styles of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Rahul Dravid – the shocking plan, the going-with-the-flow plan, and the easy plan, respectively.

Jaideep Ahlawat also plays an important role in the comedy-thriller that has Adil Afsar on camera and has been written by Yash Keswani and Sima Aggarwal. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be revealed. Speaking about the film Maqbool Khan said, “It’s been a pleasure working with Ishaan & Ananya—two powerhouses who have given fantastic performances! Khaali Peeli is a young, edgy, mad roller-coaster ride that I hope the audiences will enjoy thoroughly!”

Rumours are also doing the rounds that the film may release directly on the OTT platform Zee5. Although, no official announcement about the same has been made by the makers so far.
