Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi confirmed that there might be an Ishqiya 3 in the making. According to a DNA report, the actor confirmed that the film might officially take place sometime next year with director Abhishek Chaubey at the helm.
Chaubey, who became the much-talked about director this year when his film Udta Punjab courted trouble with the censor board, began his directorial venture with Ishqiya back in 2010. The film starred Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi, and Vidya Balan in the lead. The film was the story of two thieves, Baban (Arshad Warsi) and Khalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah) who seek refuge at a widow’s (Vidya Balan) home.

Lauded for its dark comedy and music, the film had a sequel in 2014 – Dedh Ishqiya – starring Madhuri Dixit Nene and Huma Qureshi along with the lead male actors from the first film reprising their roles of Baban and Khalujaan. The sequel, however, was not as successful as the first film.
In the meantime, Arshad Warsi already has three sequels lined up for 2017: Golmaal 4, Dhamaal 3 and Munnabhai 3. In addition to sequels, his upcoming film The Legend of Michael Mishra with Aditi Rao Hydari will release on 5 August. Currently, Warsi is filming for Fraud Saiyyan and Bhaiyyaji Superhitt.
