About working on Yogi Da, Kabir told Filmi Beat, “I play a character named Sekar Babu who wants to spoil and oppose everything Dhanshika does. I have already played villain opposite stars like Ajith. Here it was a different experience to fight with a heroine. We have completed shoot for most action sequences, including the climax scenes.”

Kabir has mostly acted in Telugu and Kannada films. He made his Tamil debut with Ajith Kumar’s Vedalam. It was directed by Siva, and starred Sruthi Haasan and Lakshmi Menon in the lead. He has also playing opposite Vijay Sethupathi in Rekka, directed by Rathina Shiva.

His upcoming films are Muni 4: Kanchana 3 directed by Raghava Lawrence. It stars him in the lead with Oviya and Vedhika.

Director Gautham Krishna’s Yogi Da is said to be a woman-centric film, and an action entertainer. In the film’s first look poster, Dhanshika is seen chasing someone with guns in her hand. She reprises the role of Yogi, who played Rajinikanth’s daughter in Kabali.

It was recently reported that the actor injured herself while shooting an action sequence in Coimbatore. According a Deccan Chronicle report, action choreographer Ganesh shot a high-octane stunt sequence with Dhanshika and other stunt actors. It was a nightclub set, and Dhanshika’s character had to fight with men hiding from her in the club.

Despite Gautham’s insistence that a body double be used for this scene, Dhanshika preferred to do it herself. The report also says the actor rehearsed the stunt many times before the actual take. But during the shoot, she got hit by a beer bottle.

Yogi Da also stars Sayaji Shinde and Manobala in supporting roles. Ishrat, AR Rahman’s sister, is composing music for the film. Cinematographer is Bhoopathy. The film is produced by Jatpatma Cinemas.
