Jacqueline Fernandez To Bring Back Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Ek Do Teen’ In Baaghi 2

The first-look of the song ‘Ek Do Teen’ from Baaghi 2 is out, featuring Jacqueline Fernandez amid several men holding light bulbs towards her. The song is a reprisal of the famous dance number featuring Madhuri Dixit from the 1988 film Tezaab.

Jacqueline’s look has been designed by Manish Malhotra, bearing a close resemblance with Madhuri’s outfit from the original video.

Bollywood, lately, has been including revamped versions of old 80s and 90s hits in their films. Some worked, some didn’t but the overall verdict was that may be some of the yesteryear chartbusters are best left untouched.

In 2017 alone, three popular numbers were given a new-age rendition to keep up with the times. ‘Humma Humma’, AR Rahman’s earworm from the 1995 film Bombay, was remixed featuring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in OK Jaanu last year.

This was followed by ‘Tamma Tamma’, originally from the 1990 film Thanedaar, that had Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt’s dance resembling your weekend Zumba workout. It was brought back in the Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan-starrer Badrinath Ki Dulhania.

‘Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara’ from the 1997 Salman Khan film Judwaa was given a modern twist in the Varun Dhawan-starrer Judwaa 2. Other songs like ‘Oonchi hai building’ too featured, making Anu Malik’s contribution to Bollywood dance numbers relevant again.

Sridevi’s famous ‘Hawa Hawai’ from Mr India was given a fun twist in the Vidya Balan film Tumhari Sulu, perhaps the only decent tribute to the late star.

Other recent remixed songs include ‘Tu cheez badi hai mast mast’ from the original film Mohra in the recent release Machine, featuring filmmaker Abbas’ son Mustafa. The film flopped at the box-office, but the song caught attention.

Sunny Leone, too, featured in a remixed version of ‘Laila Main Laila’ from the old Hindi film Qurbani. This new version had Sunny Leone gyrating on the dance floor in Raees, a Shah Rukh Khan film.

Meanwhile, Baaghi 2 stars Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in the lead roles and has been directed by choreographer-turned-filmmaker Ahmed Khan. The film releases on March 30.
