The makers later released a second poster as well. Both posters feature Suriya in the garb of a lawyer.

Speaking to Silverscreen India, a source close to the film unit said on condition of anonymity, “The film is based on real events that took place at the Madras High Court. It is a courtroom drama with socio-political elements.”

Written and directed by filmmaker TJ Gnanavel, who has previously made the 2017 romantic comedy film Kootathil Oruthan, Jai Bhim is produced by Suriya under his home banner 2D Entertainment with Rajsekar Pandian as co-producer.

The film also stars actors Rajisha Vijayan, Rao Ramesh, Prakash Raj, and Sanjay Swaroop, among others.

The source further said, “Jai Bhim went on floors in February 2020 and took about a year to finish filming. The film is currently in the final stages of post production. The producers are yet to decide on the release. So far, the plan is to release it after the theatres reopen and before the third wave of the pandemic.”
