Actress Janani Iyer, who was last seen in Thegidi, has signed a new film titled Ultaa, which will be directed by debut director Vijai Balaji .

“My character in Ultaa comes in two different shades. In the first half of the film, I play a bubbly role, and in the second half, I play a shy woman. That is why the film is titled Ultaa”, Janani told Silverscreen.in. Shooting of Ultaa will begin in February in and around Chennai. Janani added that Ultaa has a fresh story, told in a funny way. “Ultaa will be a perfect entertainer,” she said.
Ultaa is penned by debutant Balakrishnan, and both Vijai Balaji and Balakrishnan are former assistants of director AR Murugadoss. Produced by Rite Media Works Pvt Ltd, Ultaa features newcomer Rameez Raja as the hero.
Janani Iyer has signed one more Tamil film with a newcomer. Updates on that movie will be announced officially in the coming days.
