Jayasurya’s 100th Film Sunny Goes on Floors Today

Actor Jayasurya’s 100th film Sunnywhich is written and directed by Ranjith Sankar, went on floor from Thursday.

The makers took to Twitter on Wednesday and posted a short video to make the announcement. 

Anto Joseph, who is co-producing the film, also made the announcement on Wednesday. Sharing the same video, he wrote: “Best wishes dear Jayan (@Actor_Jayasurya)on his 100th movie with @ranjithsankar Titled As #Sunny ! Best wishes to the entire team.”

Jayasurya also posted the video and captioned it: “By numbers, my 100th movie. By heart, my first. To all of you, who have been a part of this journey, to all the forces that have been integral, I express my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you seems like too small a word. But Thank you. I hope to continue entertaining you with my work.”

Talking about the character he is playing, the actor today wrote: ““Sunny” Seeing his own soul…. @ranjithsankar @madhuneelakandan.”

After winning awards for portraying characters such as Joy Thakkolkaran in Punyalan Agarbattis, Sudhi Vathmeekam in Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam, mentalist John Don Bosco, trans woman Marykutty in Njan Marykutty, Jayasurya is playing the role of a musician in this film.

This film marks Jayasurya’s seventh project with Ranjith, after Punyalan Agarbattis, Punyalan Private Limited, Pretham, Pretham 2, Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam, Njan Marykutty. 

Jayasurya won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor in 2019 for his performances in Captain and Njan Marykutty. This year, he had two releases- Sufiyum Sujatayum, an Amazon Prime Video release, and Malayalam mystery thriller drama Anveshanam.

Ranjith’s last work was Malayalam thriller film Kamala. Written, produced and directed by him, the film stars Ruhani Sharma in the titular role opposite Aju Varghese, along with Anoop Menon and Biju Sopanam in supporting roles.
