Jinn, directed by debutant Sathish Chandrasekaran, will be the next supernatural horror flick the Tamil audiences will get to see. The plot revolves around a group of friends who take a three-day trip to Valparai without realizing that one among them is possessed by a spirit. Jinn is inspired by a similar event that happened in director Sathish’s life.
Jinn, director Sathish explained, is the Arabic for ‘spirit’ or ‘ghost’. The film is a crowd-funded effort, with contributions made by the team’s family, friends and well-wishers. Radhan, who made an impact in Tollywood with films like Andhala Rakshasi and the recent hit, Yevade Subramanyam, composes music for Jinn.
The cast comprises of Kalaiyarasan, Rameez, Kaali Venkat, ‘Johnny’ Hari of Madras fame, Munishkanth, Arjunan and Preethi. Vijay Karthik Kannan wields the camera while Madan handles editing. The film is currently in post-production.
