According to sources, discussions for the film are on, but no confirmation cannot be given yet. Reports say that the director was approached by Mythri Movie Makers, who will be producing the film. It is likely to be a Telugu-Kannada bilingual, with dubbed versions in Tamil and Hindi as well.

The director reportedly met Baahubali actor Prabhas recently, which lead to further speculations. He also started following the social media accounts of Jr NTR and Mythri Movie Makers.

This is likely to be Prashanth Neel’s first project with Telugu actors, and his fourth film after Ugramm, and KGF: Chapter 1 and 2.

Shoot for KGF: Chapter 2 is currently progressing in full swing in Kolar. It was reported that Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon have joined the cast. However, actor Yash, the hero, has confirmed that talks are on and an announcement will be made after the cast is finalised.

According to a report by Times Now, he said, “Right now, we are still in talks. We haven’t approached anyone with the thought that he is a big name. We are going strictly by the suitability of an actor for a character. I think the script is the real hero of KGF.”

He also clarified that a picture of his that went viral on social media recently is not the first-look of the film. “It’s a fan’s imagination of how I should look in KGF 2. I am not revealing my look so early. Let the audience get curious,” he said.

The film narrates the story of events that took place at Kolar Gold Fields during the 1990s. Srinidhi Shetty stars as the female lead, and Ramakrishna Raju, Vasishta N Simha, Ayyappa P, Harish Rai and Ananth Nag have important roles.

Meanwhile, Jr NTR is currently shooting for SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which co-stars Ram Charan Teja, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn. The film is based on the stories of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem.
