Pakistani sufi rock band Junoon’s frontman, Salman Ahmad, says Pakistan is a country where artistes are an endangered species.
Sharing a link to the song Sayonee by Junoon, featuring Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Ali Noor, on Twitter on Monday, Salman wrote:

One Twitter user disagreed with him and said: “There are plenty of artistes! In every college of Lahore, you have high quality artistes, but they don’t have the major platform to perform.”
He replied saying:
Its the Govt’s responsibility to protect the life & property of its citizens.including artists.Major platforms have to b provided by Govt. https://t.co/rD9jZOxEhk
