Actress Jyothika is likely to join the lead cast of Vijay 61. According to reports, Jyothika will act opposite her Kushico co-star Vijay. If this materialises, Jyothika will be the third lead actress to join the film, after Kajal Aggarwal and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Atlee is directing the film.
This will also be Jyothika’s third film with Vijay after SJ Suryah’s Kushi and Thirumalai.
Produced by Thenandal Films, Vijay 61 is already set to be one of 2017’s biggest films. Curiously, the project hasn’t yet been officially launched.
AR Rahman is likely to compose the music. KV Vijayendra Prasad has reportedly written the screenplay.

Jyothika is currently working on Bramma’s Magalir Mattum, which is scheduled to release in mid-2017. She plays a documentary filmmaker in the film, reportedly a women-centric film. Ghibran composes the music for this project.
