Lyricist Kabilan Vairamuthu launched his third novel – Meinigari – recently. Mani Ratnam received the first copy of the book. An ecstatic Kabilan said, “In 2004, Mani Ratnam launched my fourth poetry collection. And I’m so glad to give the first copy of my novel to him again.”

Meinigari revolves around TV reality shows. A week before the book was officially launched, Kabilan introduced the novel’s characters on the website, in a unique attempt. “Writing this novel is an experiment, and I hope this attempt would be welcomed,” said Kabilan.

Meinigari stems from the Tamil phrase Mei Nigar, which translates to “virtual reality”.
