The trailer of Kadaram Kondan is out. The action film is written and directed by Rajesh M Selva, starring Vikram, Akshara Haasan, Abi Hasan, Lena and others. Music is by Ghibran, cinematography by Srinivas R Gutha and editing by KL Praveen.
Vikram plays a double agent in Malaysia. He makes his entry to abduct a pregnant Akshara Haasan from her house. Abi Haasan, son of actor Nasser, is introduced with this film. He plays Vasu, Akshara’s on-screen husband. Malayalam actress Lena is the cop who heads a case to track Vikram.
The abduction is in connection with something Vasu has. International agencies are involved in locating Vikram, now referred to as KK, and the couple get embroiled in this. A minute of action scenes in Malaysia show Vikram, wreaking havoc as an expert assassin. The agents tracking him, headed by Lena, are instructed to shoot at sight and Vikram also succumbs to their blows at one point.
The trailer keeps the story under wraps, promising chase sequences, punches and suspense around his character. What he has to do with Vasu, Akshara and the investigating agencies in Malaysia may form the story.
The film, by director Rajesh Selva, a long time associate of Kamal Haasan, who directed Thoongavanam, is produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films along with Ravindran of Trident Arts. The trailer was launched yesterday at an event attended by Kamal, Vikram, Akshara Haasan and others. Vikram said the technical aspects and the story will be on par with Hollywood films, “We know Kamal sir’s movies are unique, but this one will appeal at an international level and also retain nativity, it’s a slick and stylish film. I’ve done a lot of challenging roles, especially in Dhruva Natchathiram recently, but this will be entirely different.”
The film was announced by Kamal Haasan in August 2018, and was shot in Kuala Lumpur for a month. Release is on July 19.
