Kajal Agarwal will learn Kalaripayattu for her role in her upcoming movie Indian 2. Directed by Shankar, starring Kamal Haasan in the lead, the film is a sequel of the actor’s 1996 movie Indian.
Kajal Agarwal recently posted a picture on social media where she was seen reading a book on Kalaripayattu. She captioned it, ‘And so it begins.’ This led to speculations that the actress is preparing for her character in Indian 2. In Indian, Kamal Haasan played a freedom fighter trained in Varmakkalai. Despite the character’s age, it was this trait that lent authenticity when he went around killing people.
Kajal Agarwal recently confirmed at a public event that she has signed up for the film. “I’m doing one more film with Sai. I also have a film with Kamal Haasan sir. I’m looking forward to both these projects,” said the actress during the recent audio launch of her new Telugu movie Kavacham.
Meanwhile, the production designer of the movie T Muthuraj shared a photo from the film’s shooting set, confirming that pre-production activities had begun. The formal shoot was scheduled to begin on December 14.
Kamal Haasan said that the movie was going to be his last one before he takes a plunge into full-time politics. He had recently announced his political party Makkal Neethi Mayaikkam.
“Makkal Needhi Maiam will field candidates in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu. I’ll quit acting after the upcoming project Indian 2, the shooting of which is slated to start on December 14,” said the actor at a public event in Kerala.
According to reports, Simbu will be seen as a police officer in the movie. Produced by Lyca Productions, the music for will be composed by Aniruddh Ravichander. Ravi Varman will be the cinematographer.
