Bollywood actress Kajol admits she was apprehensive about speaking in Tamil in Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Velaiyilla Pattathari 2 (VIP 2), but was reassured by the filmmaker as well as her co-star, Dhanush.
Speaking to ANI News at Harper Bazar India’s book launch, she said, ” I am glad that the film is over and I had a great time shooting the film. I was little apprehensive about speaking Tamil, I was not sure whether I could do it or not and I have to say that Dhanush and Soundarya Rajinikanth were absolutely wonderful with me, around me and reassured me constantly that it’s working.”
Kajol plays a sophisticated businesswoman in the film. Unlike the first VIP film, which featured Amitash Pradhan as the villain, VIP 2 will reportedly have Kajol play the villain.
In VIP 2, Dhanush reprises his role as Raghuvaran, while actors Samuthirakani, Saranya Ponvannan, and Hrishikesh all have major roles. Amala Paul is the female lead, while Sean Roldan composes the music.
Kajol made her Tamil debut with Minsaara Kanavu (1997), which starred Arvind Swamy and Prabhu Deva. Directed by Rajiv Menon, the film was a romantic comedy with music by AR Rahman.
Kajol was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale. She is also gearing up to star in Ship Of Theseus director Anand Gandhi’s next, produced by Ajay Devgn.
