Kalaipuli Thanu Calls Nadigar Sangam Event A Publicity Stunt

Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has alleged that the Nadigar Sangam’s foundation stone-laying ceremony is just a publicity stunt.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report, the Kabali producer questioned actor Vishal and said, “When a foundation stone-laying ceremony for the new building construction was held last year in March, why was there a repeat on Friday (today), inviting everyone, as if it is being done for the first time? Is it a publicity stunt by actor Vishal, just when the Producers’ Council elections are around the corner?”

Thanu has also said that even though he isn’t contesting the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) elections this year, he fully supported Radhakrishnan’s candidature. “When Vishal cannot even help producers — who suffer while producing his films — how will he support other producers?” he said.

Producer Siva, who was supposed to contest the presidential post withdrew from the elections (at Thanu’s behest) and is now supporting Radhakrishnan. Kalaipuli Sekharan has also come forward in support of the Radhakrishnan team.

The TFPC elections will be held on April 2 at the Kandasamy Naidu College in Anna Nagar, Chennai. Retired judge S. Rajeshwaran will serve as the election officer.
