Kalki Koechlin will make her Tamil debut with Kaadan. The film is helmed by Prabhu Solomon and is a reworking of Rajesh Khanna’s yesteryear hit Haathi Mere Saathi. Rana Daggubati is at the lead of this film that is being made in Hindi, Tamil as well as Telugu.
Koechlin will be seen in all three versions of the film. The film’s director wanted Koechlin to play a crucial role in the film as he felt that she would be ‘perfect’ for it.
“We felt she’d be perfect for the role and had to rope her in. The film will have a global appeal,” he added.

Interestingly, Kalki has her roots in Tamil Nadu and is very fluent in Tamil. She made her acting debut with Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D in 2009. Since then, she has always maintained that she would love to be a part of a ‘good’ Tamil film. From the looks of it, Kaadan has hit the right notes.
Kaadan will release as Haathi Mere Saathi in Hindi and as Aaranya in Telugu. It has Pulkit Samrat, Zoya Hussain and Vishnu Vishal in major roles.
