RedditWhatsapp

Kamal Haasan has been admitted to a local hospital after he suffered a fall at his Alwarpet, Chennai office. The actor slipped and fell down the stairs on Wednesday night and was promptly taken away for medical care, his PR told Silverscreen. “Kamal sir has suffered a minor fracture in his leg. His condition is currently stable and the doctors have assured us that he will recover in no time at all.”

After meeting Kamal Haasan at the hospital, his brother Chandra Haasan said that the actor was in good spirits after a surgery on his leg.  “He is expected to be in the hospital for a week more, and will be able to walk normally in 4 to 6 weeks,” Chandra Haasan said, adding that there was no damage to the spine and back, and that this injury would not delay Kamal Haasan’s Sabash Naidu by more than a few days. “We were in the middle of a planned one month break between schedules, so this injury won’t impact the movie too much,” Chandra Haasan said.

Kamal Haasan recently returned from the LA shoot of his upcoming film Sabash Naidustarring Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, and Brahmanandham among others.

Predictably, news of his injury got instant attention. Fans wished the actor a speedy recovery.

One fan thought it would be best to give him some helpful career advice

While another poked fun at his predicament

There were also others, who questioned why reports of his injury would even be ‘news’.

One fan referred to this age-old line from a Crazy Mohan play. The writer, a longtime associate of Kamal, had said in his play Crazy Thieves in Palavakkam, ‘Kamal Haasan is hurt it seems. I haven’t even read that!’
