R Parthiban’s upcoming directorial Oththa Seruppu will have a grand audio launch on May 19, attended by actor-politician Kamal Haasan and director Shankar.

Parthiban posted a picture with Kamal Haasan on Twitter recently.

Speaking to Silverscreen, he said, “I approached both Kamal and Shankar and both have agreed to come. I don’t want to speak about the film as yet. I’ll speak at the launch, we have planned it on May 19 at Phoenix Mall in Chennai.” While announcing the film in March, Parthiban said in a statement, “This is a short time project. Music director Santosh Narayanan, whom I value most, is the composer for this film. If my 39-second teaser invoked a huge response from the audience, credit goes to Santhosh’s music only. Ramji joins me as the cinematographer in this film. His contribution to the Tamil film industry is immense and I have a lot of pride associating with him. Editor Sudharshan, who was phenomenal in my film Kadhai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam is the editor for this film. Amaran as the art director is all set to impress everyone with his work.”

In April, Resul Pookutty came on board as the sound designer of the film.

The film began shoot in March and a teaser released, which led to speculations that Oththa Serupu is a murder mystery. Details about the cast are yet to known, but Parthiban will be seen in an important role. Dubbing work and post-production for the film is on, and release announcements will be made soon.

Parthiban is making his directorial come back after Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam in 2014. He was last seen as an actor in Kuppathu Raja, and he plays an important role in Vishal-starrer Ayogya, directed by debutant Venkat Mohan, which releases tomorrow. He also has a biopic on the veteran actor Chandrababu in the pipeline. Unconfirmed reports say that Prabhudheva will play Chandrababu in this biopic. A sequel to his hit film, Ulle Veliye, in also in the pipeline.
