Kamal Haasan Asks Fans Not To Celebrate His Birthday

Actor Kamal Haasan asked his fans to not celebrate his birthday on 7 November in view of the hospitalisation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa.

In a tweet in Tamil addressed to the members of his fan club, he said what amounted to: “I insist that my friends do not celebrate my birthday in view of the health of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister”

The actor turns 63 on the 7 November this year. Every year, he participates in events organised by his fan club and also engages in social welfare activites. Last year, his birthday began with a visit to writer Rajanarayanan’s house, with a Rs.1 lakh gift to the writer. Then, at a function organised by his fans, television sets and computers were given away to the underprivileged, and donations were made to a school in Paramakudi.

Kamal Haasan, who has been recuperating from the leg fracture he suffered in July, said that he would resume working for Sabash Naidu in November. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, Shruti Haasan and Brammanandam and Saurabh Shukla in important roles. Since its inception, the project has undergone a series of changes in the crew. The director TK Rajeev Kumar exited the project due to illness and was replaced by Kamal himself. Delays were caused due to these changes and Kamal’s injury.
