Kamal Haasan’s ‘Sabash Naidu’ Delayed Again

Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan’s trilingual comedy Sabash Naidu has hit a road block again. Earlier, the film’s original director T K Rajeev Kumar had exited the project owing to ill-health, and Kamal had taken over the directorial responsibility. Now, an IANS report says that the film’s editor and cinematographer have also left the project. Moreover, Kamal suffered a leg injury last week, delaying the project further.

According to the report, a few days after the film team started shooting in Los Angeles, editor James Joseph left for Kerala to attend to his wife who had met with an accident. James was absent throughout the entire first schedule.

After the first schedule, Kamal wanted cinematographer Jaya Krishna Gummadi to be replaced as he wasn’t happy with the pace at which the technician was working. The team is currently on the lookout for a suitable replacement. According to a News Minute report, Jaya Krishna struggled to cope with the pace at which he was required to work as the film was being shot in three languages simultaneously.

Sabash Naidu is based on a character that Kamal played in his film Dasavatharam. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam, Saurabh Shukla, and Roger Narayanan.
The team had planned to wrap up the shoot by September. It seems that the film wouldn’t be released in cinemas before next year.
