Actress Kangana Ranaut might be seen alongside actor Shah Rukh Khan in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. The National award winning actress is currently in talks to star in the project.
In a recent interview, she said, “Sanjay sir spoke to me about the film, saying that he wants to direct the film with me and Shah Rukh sir. But it’s at a very premature stage. Nothing has been confirmed yet.”
If the project does materialise, it would be the first film for Ranaut under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s direction. Actor Shah Rukh Khan has already worked with the director in the 2002 super-hit romantic drama, Devdas.
According to unconfirmed reports, the film will be a light hearted entertainer, completely different in tone from the director’s previous releases – Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
Director Bhansali currently has another movie in the pipeline. Titled Padmavati, the film is based on a legendary queen of the epic ‘Padmavat’ written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi in 1540 CE. Actress Deepika Padukone has been roped in to play the queen’s role.
Meanwhile, Kangana has a packed year ahead with many projects under her belt. It was recently reported that Kangana would be seen in Ritesh Batra’s next movie. It is also speculated that Irfan Khan was roped in to play the lead role.

The actress is also working on the historical biopic, Jhansi Ki Rani. Directed by Ketan Mehta, the movie is based on the warrior queen, Rani Lakshmibai. In addition to this, there is also Rangoon, a period romance drama directed by Vishal Bharadhwaj and Simran directed by Hansal Mehta.
Meanwhile, Shahrukh Khan is working on a slew of projects. He has Dear Zindagi with Alia Bhatt, and Raees directed by Rahul Dholakia.
He also recently began shooting for an untitled film with Imtiaz Ali as the director. Anushka Sharma plays the female lead in the movie.
