Actor Vicky Kaushal of Masaan fame has an impressive repertoire of films lined up for this year. He was recently roped in to play the male lead, opposite Kangana Ranaut, in the upcoming thriller Mental.
He was last seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Raman Raghav 2.0 as a cocaine addict cop in Mumbai.
Reports suggest that the director had initially approached Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao for the lead but it finally went to Vicky Kaushal. Kangana plays a dark character and Vicky will be her nemesis.
He has reportedly been given 15 days to put on weight for the role before they start shooting in August. In the meantime, Vicky is working next to Alia Bhatt for the upcoming period drama Raazi, directed by Meghna Gulzar, in which he will be seen as a Pakistani army man. He is also acting in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic.

Vicky is also part of Netflix India’s Love Per Square Foot. Directed by Anand Tiwari, it appears to be a slice-of-life romantic comedy with the two protagonists, who for once, are in a quandary that is very relatable. It will release on February 14.
