The actor tagged the makers of the film and wrote, “Presenting the teaser of #Kapatadhaari.”
The nearly one-and-a-half-minute-long teaser begins with Sumanth saying ‘Nothing happens without a purpose in the world,’ as the camera pans over a lifeless man lying amidst a pool of blood. Sumanth plays a traffic policeman who comes across a murder mystery. While his attempts to pursue the case is being stopped by the higher officials, Sumanth is determined to solve the case, despite all odds.
Earlier this month, the film’s producer G Dhananjayan announced on social media that the film was screened to Sumanth, who was happy with the outcome. Talking to Silverscreen India, Dhananjayan said, “We are ready with the Telugu film Kapatadhaari and it was screened for Sumanth and his team at Hyderabad. We wanted his opinion and he said he is happy with the outcome especially with the screenplay and the background music. We made the film with a lot of passion and are now looking forward to completing all the business activity.” He also revealed that the team is looking to release the film for Diwali.
The film features an ensemble cast of Nasser, Nandita Swetha, Jayaprakash, Vennela Kishore, Suman Ranganath, and Sampath. Kapatadhaari is bankrolled by G Dhananjayan under Creative Entertainers and Distributors. While Simon King composed the music, Rasamathi handled the camera.
Kapatadhaari is the remake of the 2019 hit Kannada film Kavaludaari, which starred Anant Nag. The film is simultaneously being released in Tamil as Kabadadaari, with Sibiraj in the lead. The Tamil remake is helmed by Pradeep Krishnamoorthy and features Nandita Swetha as the female lead.
Meanwhile, Sumanth was last seen playing Akkineni Nageswara Rao in NTR Kathanayakudu and its sequel NTR Mahanayakudu. On the other hand, Sibiraj was last seen Walter, which released earlier this year. Currently, Sibbiraj is working on Vattam, Maayon, and Ranga.
