The audio of Kappal was launched by AR Rahman, Vijay and Vikram last Saturday. At the audio launch, when asked about his close friend in the industry, Vijay said, “I have always been very fond of Vikram. He is my best friend. I’m in awe of his talent and all the effort that he has put in for I.” He added that his favourite song from I is Mersalaaayiten.
Accepting the compliment, Vikram said, “At parties, I always dance to Vijay’s songs. Vijay and I discuss cinema. We even gossip together. I am a huge fan of his films.”
Kappal is directed by Karthik, a former associate of Shankar. The film has Vaibhav and Sonam Bajwa in the lead, with Karunakaran and VTV Ganesh forming the supporting cast. Natarajan has composed music. Director Shankar revives his production house – S Pictures – with this film.
