Filmmaker Karan Johar took to social media on Thursday and announced his new production venture Bedhadak, which will feature Shanaya Kapoor, Lakshya Lalwani, and Gurfateh Pirzada.
Kapoor is the daughter of actor Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor. Bedhadak will be her big debut in the Hindi film industry. Sharing her first look from the film, Johar wrote, “Introducing the gorgeous Shanaya Kapoor as Nimrit in Bedhadak. An enchanting force to look out for, I can’t wait to see the energy she brings onto the screen.”
Kapoor began her career as an assistant director with the 2020 Netflix film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, which featured her cousin Janhvi Kapoor in the lead role. She has also made a few cameo appearances in the Netflix series The Fabulous Lives Of Bollywood Wives.
Sharing Lakshya’s first look from the upcoming film, Johar wrote, “Looks that will melt your heart just as easily as his smile will” and with Pirzada’s photo, the producer wrote, “His brooding good looks will have you smitten in no time. Watch Angad’s character come alive in Bedhadak with Gurfateh Pirzada bringing his effortless suave onto the big screen.”
Lalwani, a television actor known for his lead role in Porus, is set to make his Hindi film debut with Dostana 2, also produced by Dharma.
Pirzada, on the other hand, has previously acted in a few projects like Guilty with Kiara Advani and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. He has also been a part of director Amit Khanna’s Friends In Law and Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele.
Calling the three actors the “latest addition to the Dharma family,” Johar wrote in another post, “We’re bringing to you a new era of love – one that’s filled with passion, intensity, and boundaries that will be crossed…Bedhadak.”
The release date of Bedhadak is yet to be announced. Sources who did not wish to be named told Silverscreen India that it will be the story of a love triangle, but more details are awaited.
