Director Vishnuvardhan is known for his stylistic treatment of ordinary film subjects. The director is now going to showcase his unique talent on a bigger platform by directing his first Bollywood film, Shershaah, for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

The film has been shot extensively in Kargil, Chandigarh and Palampur. This is the first time that Vishnuvardhan is directing a biopic. Scheduled for worldwide release on 3 July 2020, the film is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah and Himanshu Gandhi. The story, screenplay and dialogues are written by Sandeep Srivastava.
