Actor Akkineni Akhil, youngest son of Nagarjuna and grandson of Nageswara Rao, has been signed on to endorse three brands even before his first film Akhil releases in theatres. In addition to carbonated soft-drink brand Mountain Dew and watch company Titan, Akhil has now been signed as the brand ambassador for Bengaluru-based Karbonn Mobiles on a three-year contract, to represent their print, television and other brand-engagement events. The debutant actor’s marketability appears to be unprecedented. Interestingly, co-star Sayyeshaa Saigal, grand-niece of Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu, who will also make her debut with this film, has not been offered similar endorsements. Reportedly, the distribution rights for the film were sold for Rs.14 crore, a record-breaking price for a film featuring newcomers.

Akhil is scheduled for a worldwide release on October 21, and will be competing with Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan’s film at the box-office. The audio of Akhil will be released on September 20, on the day of his late grandfather’s birthday. Akhil is currently shooting in Munich in Europe, where two songs from Akhil are being filmed.
